Two kayakers rescued from choppy ocean water

Two kayakers paddling north from Santa Catalina Island went missing in stormy winds off the Palos Verde Peninsula but were spotted in the wind-churned sea by a Coast Guard officer in a helicopter, a spokesman said Monday.
