The team will also be placed on probation for four years ending on June 9, 2014. During the probationary period the Trojans will have to regulate access to players excluding all non-institutional personnel with the exception of the media and family members.
As for the men's basketball team, no additional sanctions were issued by the NCAA satisfied with the self-sanctions.
However as I speculated back in January much to chagrin of many Trojan fans, the infractions committee did use the dreaded term, "Lack of institutional control." If USC commits any further major violations in the next five years, they will considered repeat offenders and will be handed the "death penalty."

Updated: USC will appeal the severity of the sanctions issued by the NCAA. In their press release, they didn't deny any wrongdoing. All punishments will not go in effect until the appeals process is complete.
